ARSENAL COULD ADD SOME YOUNGSTERS THIS SEASON

Premier League side Arsenal could look inwards for depth as they mount a serious league title challenge and feature in the Europa League tournament – which could stretch the travel plans of the team.

The pre-season afforded Arsene Wenger the chance to show off some of the youngsters at the club.

Goalkeeper

Matt Macey could get more games under his belt this season if Emi Martinez decides to go out on loan. The keeper is desperate for game time so he could move out elsewhere. With Wojciech Szczesny off permanently to Serie A champs Juventus, Petr Cech and David Ospina are the only senior men in the goalkeeping department. Ryan Huddart is on loan at Eastleigh so the youngster is clear to take the third spot behind the experienced shot stoppers.

Defense

Krystian Bielok has the height and he is versatile. He can play in centre back, defensive midfield and holding midfield. The player could support Gabriel, Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi. He was on loan at Birmingham City recently so he should be ready to step up in supporting capacity at least.

Midfield

The Gunners have a decent prospect in Joe Willock. He paired with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the middle during the preseason but he was in defensive role when he played alongside Aaron Ramsey in the Emirates Cup. The 17-year old could provide valuable support in the EFL Cupor in faraway games in Europe when the team is stretched. Read more »

Gunners looking for new players

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal is in the market to strengthen the team, but he has warned fans not to expect more than three new players.

He believes that he has a good team of players to build upon and that he does not want to change things drastically.

Arsene Wenger said that he is going to favor quality over quantity and that he does not feel that the club needs massive changes to become Premier League champions. This statement might be a bit hard for Arsenal fans to swallow as they feel that the team performance has been pathetic at times this season.

Is Thierry Henry the next coach of Arsenal?

Arsene Wenger is once again being pressured by Arsenal supporters and many others to leave the managerial position of the Premier League club as the English outfit continues to struggle in their task of winning the league title which is something that they have not won in over 10 years and fans of the club as well as some players are getting restless.

An overwhelming 2-10 aggregate defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League was another huge blow for the 67 year old French manager as more people are starting to lose faith in the coach and a change of managers is beginning to look like a change that might and should happen in the near future.

It still remains uncertain if Arsene Wenger will remain for another year in charge of Arsenal, his current contract expires at the end of the current season but a list of potential managers has once again been emerging and Thierry Henry is one of the more well-known figures that has popped as a possible candidate. Ian Wright has asked Granit Xhaka to take Tips from Victor Wanyama

Ian Wright has asked Granit Xhaka to take a leaf out of the book of Victor Wanyama who also has a physical game like him, but, very rarely does he get into trouble with his tackles.

Wright was quite thrilled back in the summer with the fact that Xhaka had been landed at Emirates and had predicted that the Switzerland native would prove to be a huge player for the Gunners with his great passing skills and would give them that extra little edge in the centre of the pitch that they needed for a long time.

The 53-year old has also praised the game of Xhaka many a time on social media and has pointed him out as someone who can be given the role of the skipper of Arsenal after some time, but, despite being such an admirer of the playmaker, Wright is disappointed with his inability to keep control over his play in the recent times.
