The goalkeeper of Arsenal, Vito Mannone, has said that he is not going to leave Arsenal during the mid season transfer window and the reports about his transfer are just rumours. Since the last few days, there have been reports that the Italian club Napoli has shown interest in Mannone and the Italian goalkeeper is interested in returning to his motherland. But, Mannone has denied all those reports.

While talking to the reporters, the Italian player said, “I am very happy playing for Arsenal at the moment and I have no intention of leaving the club. I have heard reports about my transfer. I want to tell you all that those reports are completely baseless. There is no truth in them.”

The performance of Mannone has been quite decent in the ongoing season so far. He has been given regular playing chances because of the injuries of Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski and the Italian youngster has made full use of those chances.

When asked about his good performance in the current season so far, Mannone said, “At the start of the season, I hadn’t thought that I would play so many matches. I was the third choice goalkeeper and I was expected to warm the bench more often than not. But, both Szczesny and Fabianski got injured and I got playing chances. Fortunately, I have stood up to the expectations of the manager so far and I will try to continue doing well in the upcoming matches as well.”

Mannone has represented his country Italy at the U21 level, but, he hasn’t yet played any match for the senior team of Italy. When asked about that, Mannone said, “every player in the world dreams of representing his national side at the senior level and so does I. I haven’t yet got the chance, but, if I keep performing consistently, I will get the chance pretty soon.”
