Arsene Wenger is once again being pressured by Arsenal supporters and many others to leave the managerial position of the Premier League club as the English outfit continues to struggle in their task of winning the league title which is something that they have not won in over 10 years and fans of the club as well as some players are getting restless.
An overwhelming 2-10 aggregate defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League was another huge blow for the 67 year old French manager as more people are starting to lose faith in the coach and a change of managers is beginning to look like a change that might and should happen in the near future.
It still remains uncertain if Arsene Wenger will remain for another year in charge of Arsenal, his current contract expires at the end of the current season but a list of potential managers has once again been emerging and Thierry Henry is one of the more well-known figures that has popped as a possible candidate. Ian Wright has asked Granit Xhaka to take a leaf out of the book of Victor Wanyama who also has a physical game like him, but, very rarely does he get into trouble with his tackles.
Wright was quite thrilled back in the summer with the fact that Xhaka had been landed at Emirates and had predicted that the Switzerland native would prove to be a huge player for the Gunners with his great passing skills and would give them that extra little edge in the centre of the pitch that they needed for a long time.
The 53-year old has also praised the game of Xhaka many a time on social media and has pointed him out as someone who can be given the role of the skipper of Arsenal after some time, but, despite being such an admirer of the playmaker, Wright is disappointed with his inability to keep control over his play in the recent times. Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has confirmed the addition of two players to the squad this summer.
SampNews24 reveal that one of the top reasons that delayed the deal of long term target Shkodran Mustafi. The German was supposed to have arrived at the Emirates earlier, but a lengthy transfer holdup delayed the move. The news report claims one of the top reasons was the ten percent share Mustafi’s club were going to pay Sampdoria.
When Sampdoria allowed the transfer of the World Cup winner to Valencia, they added a clause that required they received a share from his eventual deal. The Italian club would earn at least £3.5 million from the £35 million the North London club paid for Mustafi. The singing along with the yet-to-be-announced deal for Lucas Perez gives the Arsenal squad a boost, even as Wenger has defended his moves were not to appease fans.
On one Arsenal squad, there could be Cech in goal, Koscielny and Mustafi in central defence, Bellerin and Monreal at the sides. Summer marquee signing Granit Xhaka could play front of the defender, with Cazorla, Ramsey and Ozil in the middle, Alexis and Perez could appear in front. However, in another combination, Ospina could start, Rob Holding could pair with Chambers, Gibbs and Jerkinson at the back. Elneny and Coquelin could play in front of the backline. Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere and Walcott could play behind an Olivier Giroud leading the attack.
